It takes the concentrated private gardens area in Suzhou on the Zhuozheng Yuan, the Wangshi Yuan, The Liu Yuan, Shi Zilin, Ge Yuan of Yangzhou and Yu Yuan of Shanghai for the example, as well as analyses four garden elements as constructions, mountains and rocks, rationale of water and plants to the overall layout of the garden in its conception performance of each element. Also summarizes the performance model of a private garden in Jiangnan garden on the base hereinbefore.Finally, this article analyzes how the classical gardens create garden conceptions, combined the characteristics of the time, and aggregates the development of modern garden conception. Furthermore, it defines significance meaning of research on the modern garden landscape conception, and explores the garden conception for inheriting and carrying forward, for the purpose of reaching a higher level of applying modern garden conception.Through the research of private garden in Jiangnan area, this article summarized the following results:In the beginning of construction the modern garden, it will be a good idea of the mood, combined with the local culture and history in a city park from the name of cultural background, so as to the public to the garden city has a greater affinity.2. Modern garden design should take fully consideration of its surrounding scenery, and use the methods of architecting from private gardens in the Jiangnan area, to harmonize the surrounding scenery and the whole garden together3 Take full uses of the plants' characteristics in the garden and using nice plants in the garden could do better performance of garden conception.4 The use of characters in the modern garden could be a good point in the entire garden space.5 Jiangnan private garden in the mood to create the landscape, not a fixed pattern, but it in combination garden landscape and garden will be demonstrated by the mood.
