The Research Of Public Facilities Design In The Historical And Cultural City Blocks

Historical and cultural city block not only provide people with necessary material conditions and convenience, but also meet the various needs of people's life and development by its unique culture, social and economic background. This study starts with the consideration of problems in the process of protection and update of current historical cultural city blocks, deeply analyze the environmental factors that impact street furniture in the historical cultural blocks, and apply them to the design and planning of public facilities in historical cultural blocks. Moreover, the study is focusing on co-existence of public facilities and historical cultural block environment, so as to explore and solve the current existed problems.Firstly, through the analysis of basic theory on historical cultural blocks and public facilities, the study has summed up the composition and classification of public facilities in historical cultural cities, analyze the current status of public facilities of local and oversea's historical cultural city blocks. Secondly, according to the collected data and field research, summarized principles and methods for the design of public facilities of historical cultural blocks, including for the design in district region, by considering the characteristics of street furniture design. Finally taking HuiShan of Wuxi town as an example, the study investigates status and regional characteristics of town, extracts traditional symbolic elements that can transmit the history and culture of the town, and then apply them to the localization, geographic and context design of street furniture of HuiShan TowaThe Coverage of this research is extensive, not only including the public facilities design itself, but also urban planning and design, urban landscape design, heritage protection of architecture art, and traditional Chinese arts. At the same time it is closely related to sociology, economics, and psychology. Through proposing and analyzing the problems, the study has summarized the principles and methods for design of street furniture in historical cultural blocks, and it has certain significance in this field.
