| Flux switching machine is a new type, double salient brushless machine, which has no permanent magnet on stator or rotor but with both exciting winding and armature winding fixed on stator. It incorporates the features of simple structure, high power density and high speed of a conventional switched reluctance machine, and it's convenient to be controlled. The characteristics of FSM can be described as low cost, low noise and robustness. The simple structure of FSM makes it flexible to be controlled when it operates in generating mode, and the system cost is very low which is a major advantage to other reluctance generator systems.Firstly, this thesis introduces the configuration, operation principle and non-linear inductance characteristic of FSM, then discusses three reactive power compensation methods, of which magnetic energy recovery switch(MERS) is proposed to be applied in generating control. Secondly, based on mathematic model of FSG, a non-linear simulation model is built in MATLAB, which is used to analyze static and dynamic characteristics of generating operation. Thirdly, the distribution of motor magnetic field is analyzed with static finite element method, and the motor inductance is also calculated. A time-stepping finite element model is developed to verify MATLAB simulation. Finally, based on dsPIC30F2010, a control system including hardware and software is designed. A controller circuit is designed and made to verify correctness and feasibility of the procedure. |
