Research And Evaluation Of Livable Cities In Urumqi

Livable city embodies the new concept of city, it is the direction of development of cities and the goal of planning and construction. With the advance of the urbanization process, China is facing a new round of upsurge of urban construction. It Will a large number of population into cities, so leading Urbanization of livable city is a scientific idea of urban development. At present, the study of livable city is a new field of in-depth study. The article summed up the research of livable city at home and abroad, analyze concept, connotation and the theoretical basis of livable city, describe and analyze the existing index system. Raise the problems of study of livable city and future research directions.Study area is Urumqi in the article, based on content and theory of sustainable development of livable environmental systems in cities. Six standards in indicator system raised by Group of Livable City in China's Urban Research Association as a guide for the article, reference to the Livable City Environmental Assessment Index System Existing in home and abroad and recommendations of a number of experts and scholars, combined with the actual situation of Urumqi, established a Three-Level Indicators of Evaluation System. The article sorted out and collected related data of nine-year targets from 1999 to 2007 in Urumqi. In accordance with the eight principles of scientific, comprehensive, people-oriented, ecological etc, build the evaluation index system of livable city in Urumqi. It evaluated development level of livable cities in Urumqi comprehensively, using principal of component analysis and the AHP. And test the results of evaluation, the results is consistent. The results show that development level of the quality of the environment in livable cities in Urumqi turns upward trend, however, the development between the various subsystems is lack of coordination. In particular, the upward trend of subsystem in city's ecological environment is not obvious. Task of livable city's ecological environment for sustainable development remains arduous. The main reason is, special natural conditions of Urumqi determine ecosystem structure of city and its surrounding is simple, system is very fragile and Poor anti-interference ability. Due to the impact of terrain, ground-based temperature inversion has emerged in four Seasons, more severe in winter particularly, and more fog and humidity in winter, proliferation of atmospheric pollutants is negative. Secondly, energy structure is irrational, coal burning increased sulfur dioxide emissions, cause severe environmental pollution easily. The article put forward constructive proposals and optimization measures for the various problems and deficiencies in development existed in livable city--Urumqi.The study aims to achieve the targeted cities of Urumqi and development goals-- Livable City, and provides references and ideas. We look forward to the development of the city of Urumqi,further improve their work and living environment.
