In recent years, with the rapid development of the world economy, the long-span bridge construction has been entering a period of rapid development. More of the long-span bridges are cable-supported bridge, which mainly includes suspension bridge and cable-stayed bridge.As suspension bridge and cable-stayed bridge obviously have their own obvious advantages as well as disadvantages, a new system bridge called self-anchored cable-stayed suspensionsystem-mixed bridge comes out, which has both merits of them. However, accordingly the problem of cable replacement must exist in self-anchored cable-stayed suspension system-mixed bridge as it is inescapable to arise in the cable-stayed bridge. So the paper mainly gives the theoretic discuss and testing study about the cable replacement of self-anchored cable-stayed suspension systems-combined bridge, and its research work is as follows:1) According as existing research results and the relevant literature at home and abroad, by means of analyzing the structure of self-anchored cable-stayed suspension systems-combined bridge, based on the analysis theory of suspension bridge, the analysis theory of cable-stayed bridge, and the non-linear finite element analysis theory together with its methods, the paper first sums up the basic analysis theory of self-anchored cable-stayed suspension system-mixed bridge.2) By means of analyzing the structure system and stress specific character of the cable-stayed section in self-anchored cable-stayed suspension systems-combined bridge, according to the theory and methods about the cable replacement of cable-stayed bridge, it discusses the theory and methods about cable replacement of self-anchored cable-stayed suspension. system-combined bridge, and points out the problems in existing theory and methods about cable replacement.3) Based on the basic analysis theory of self-anchored cable-stayed suspension system-mixed bridge, according to the basic theory about the cable replacement, using the general finite element computational software MIDAS/Civil, the finite element model of cable-replaced experiment model has been established. Then, by simulating the practical condition of cable replacement, the structure analysis of the model bridge on the condition cable replacement has been carried out, and the calculated results of cable-replaced experiment model have been gained4) On the basic of the experiment about the cable replacement of model bridge, through comparative analysis for measured results, design conversion results and calculated results, it has been studied that the internal force's re-distribution of cables as well as the effects to main span, main tower, main cable, suspenders and so on, when one cable breaks in self-anchored cable-stayed suspension system-mixed bridge , and the conditions of stress, distortion and safety about the whole bridge structure also have been analyzed in the course of cable replacement. As a result, some noticeable phenomena have been found while a few helpful conclusions have been gained.
