Development Of A Rural Power Automation RTU Based On DSP

RTU(Remote Terminal Unit) is the basic equipment of automatic electric power system ,it has important effect on the safety operation of the electric power system. With the development of our nation's economy, the country's automatic electric power net is reconstructed step by step. The RTU which has high performance and low price is needed mostly in the automatic reconstructing of the country's electric power net.This paper analyzes the current state and development for the automation technology of power plants and substations in the foreign and nation country and implements a kind of RTU with goog performance and low price facing automatic reconstructing of the agricultural electric power net, based on DSP's platform the requirement of electrical power department and the trend of the automatic electric power system's measure and control development.The design of this instrument overcomes the defect of the traditional SCM (Single Chip Machine) and uses the DSP and ARM technology which develop rapidly today. The measure and control parts of this equipment use MC56F8346 chip which is just produced by Motorola and has the advantages of DSP, the communication parts use AT91R40008 chip. The instrument's communication design uses Ethernet communication style besides the CAN bus applied in current electric power system widely. The equipment's software and hardware design both take modular method, each function module can be configured according to the real requirement and constructed flexibly. This equipment takes many anti-jamming methods which increase the reliability greatly in the design of the equipment's structure, software and hardware.This instrument has many advantages, such as the high measure precision, the fast data refreshing speed, the good anti-jamming ability, the strong adaptability , the high performance and the low price. It has economic and theoretic value.
