Load management terminal unit is an important component of Power Load Management System; it has been widely used in occasions such as monitor and control to the large power customers, monitor and control to the parallel-in-locus of power supply, monitor to the general or the special power distribution transformer and automatic meter message recording system, etc. Power Load Management System develops on the basis of the former Power Load Control System, which regards local-closed-loop control and system center remote control to the power load as its main functions. With the constant promotion in economic reform of power market, the "control" function of Power Load Control System is weakened relativly, but some new requirements such as power information management, marketing management and demand side management have been put forward. In order to adapt to the development, Power Load Control System has strengthened the function of power load management and become Power Load Management System, which serve to electric power marketing, customer service and power demand side management.This dissertation specifies the function and performance requirements of load management terminal unit for the existing system, analyses the needing algorithms for grid power quality monitoring, harmonic analysis, voltage and reactive power compensation control, etc. For most present similar products have shortcomings such as high cost, functions are unsatisfied with the new demands of the system, etc, this dissertation adopted digital signal controller (DSC), which integrated the advantages of both MCU and DSP and was put out newly by Microchip Technology Inc., to form a single-chip realization scheme of load management terminal unit, based on carefully analyzing and comparing of different microprocessor's performance. This scheme utilized the strong data processing capability of DSC to introduce harmonic analysis into the design of load management terminal unit, and made use of voltage and reactive power compensation control to optimize the systematic operation state and to improve the quality of grid power. Meanwhile, it also realized remote software upgrading function that present products generally lack of.The hardware of the load management terminal unit developed by this dissertation included modules such as data collection module, control module, display module, communications module, etc, and also assistant circuit such as clock circuit, frequency...
