Staggered truss steel-timber combined structure is a new type for sustainable and practical residential system.The thesis analyses the structure behavior of multi-story building of staggered truss steel-timber combined structure.The thesis first makes a study on the design of staggered steel-timber truss.On the basis of the initial laying-out of steel-timber members,this paper,according to a certain truss span, analyzes the varieties of the load bearing behavior of the truss from the different number of the panel,the different location of the vierendeel panel,and the different arrangements of web members.Results show that the initial layout scheme of steel-timber members of the truss is reasonable and feasible.It also gives the feasible styles for web members and the proper panel number of the staggered truss steel-timber combined system.For researching the structure behavior of this system in multi-story residential building,the thesis analyses the mechanical behavior of a six-story staggered truss steel-timber combined residential building using SAP2000.The thesis analyses the internal force,vertical displacement and lateral displacement of the structure under gravity loads,wind loads and horizontal seismic loads.It also includes the self-vibration characteristic and shear-weight ratio of the structure.It can be concluded that this structure showed excellent mechanical behavior.Finally,the thesis analyse the main influence factors of the mechanical behavior of this structure.The factors considered mainly include as follow:truss form,truss height,connection type,column spacing,building length to width ratio,building height to width ratio,structural materials,and so on.Results show that this structure is suitable for multi-story building or high-rise building of narrow plane.The location of the vierendeel panel has greater influence on the mid-span deflection of truss and the story drift of this structure under horizontal load.The seismic behavior of this structure is better than that of steel structure.
