As one of the main teas in China, green tea, ranks first in the six primary processingarly teas in terms of output, which has strong national and regional characteristics. Except for meeting the general requirements of packaging, the packaging design of green tea also highlights the tea culture, Chinese national culture and unique geographical culture, which varies with other merchandise. Thus to fully embody the long history, unique culture and typical.geographical characteristics of green tea.Green packaging design should have aesthetic value, which almost has no argument. Because humans do not only require to meet the needs of the material, but also to meet the needs of the spirit, so excellent packaging should be designed to function with the highly united needs of the material and spirit. For the material functions, its content is the functions, its form is structure function and performance of manifestation of the significance ; for the spirit functions, its content is whether the creating the power of person was included, its form shows the essence power of person in emotional patterns. Thus green tea packaging design should focus more on the external forms of aesthetic expression while meeting the needs of functioning.Green tea packaging design is typical and representative design activities in packaging design. Green tea packaging design study aims to explore the green tea packaging design principles and aesthetic changes with the times in line with the characteristics of the times, improve the appearance quality and visual impact of green tea packaging design, and enhance the added value of green tea products and the effect of the overall package , thus to meet the market competing demands, and create more economic benefits.Aiming at packaging design of green tea, firstly, the thesis take the tea culture as the background, take the modern packaging design theory as a guide, through using the methods of survey research, literature reasearch and so on, analyzed and studied the properties, historical and cultural background and current market situation of the green tea. Through field research and design practice, the thesis analysed the current situations of packaging materials, printing technology and graphic design of green tea packaging design, and the important problems were imposed. Secondly, the thesis researched on patterns, characters and color design based on the theory of form-beauty of the green tea packaging. The prominent tea packaging patterns, characters design and color design show that the species are characteristic, reflecting the geographical features, to attract the attention are all the important means to attract consumers. And on the basis of the above-mentioned study ,the thesis demonstrated the pattern of expression, the treatment of color and the process of design of tea packaging design, which also be illustrated with the adoption of information, picture and design examples.
