| The aim of IEC 61850 is a standard of open communication in substation automation system (SAS). It makes fine implement of interoperability among IEDs from different manufacturing company. This standard can adapt to the rapid development of communication technology, and meet the user to improve system reliability. It reduces duplication of investment and maintenance costs of the demand. As a communication standard, it only gives a framework for the achievement. Wherefore, it is theoretical significance and practical value to research on standard and its implement. The implementations of the standard prescribe for abstract communication service interface (ACSI) to the manufacturing message specification (MMS) of the mapping is the key to the realization of IEC 61850.This article is studied around communication IEC 61850 series of standards, specifically IEC 61850-6, IEC 61850-7, IEC 61850-8 content. This paper is earnest analysis of the model of substation communication systems and intelligent electronic devices (IED) of the data structure. In conjunction with IEC 61850 standard model related to the MMS. It is depth study of the IEC 61850 standards and the contradiction between the MMS mapping, based on a comprehensive data structure to improve model of the IED, the realization of abstract standard communications services.In this paper, it involved in substation automation system in our country the status of communication systems and standards for the background. This paper is comparing the currently used communication protocol; it is summarize the advantages and disadvantages. In the manufacturing message specification has been working principle knowledge of this field, for the MMS PDU rules description language ASN.1 encoding rules of its research. Finally, the abstract communication services to achieve specific process, including all levels of communication protocol implementation steps.In-depth study of the text of the IEC 61850 standard of the core content of substation communication system made between research and analysis. Its ultimate realization of the standard IEC61850 the problems faced by the process of doing analysis.
