Step-motor is a kind of electromechanical component that is driven in step angle or line displacement by electric pulse signal. Because of having the advantage of easy open-loop control and no accumulating error, step-motor is being applied widely in many fields. But the control of step-motor is comparatively complicated in reality. Along with the development of embedded system technology and micro-electronics technology in controlled field, we can design an embedded system of which the scale is slightly, the cost is lower, and the function is more specific to complete the work of step-motor's control.This thesis based on the controlling of step-motor, having introduced the development status of step-motor controlling technology. According to the discussing and proving of the plan of this system and the selecting of hardware, which uses embedded CPU S3C44B0X and FPGA as the kernel of hardware platform, and Quartus II as the software simulator platform. In hardware, the design of peripheral interface circuit is implemented based on CPU S3C44B0X, and detailed design processes of keyboard interface circuit, LCD, USB and serial extend circuit are provided. In software, VHDL codes about all the function module of FPGA have mostly accomplished, and the simulation of time sequence wave also has been done.Adopting the embedded controlling system of ARM and FPGA, which doesn't need linking an exterior D/A converter, and will simplify the complexity of peripheral hardware circuit and software programming of the system, improve its ability to resist EMI and will shorten the design periods of step-motor controller. It has the characteristics of structure succinctness, high precision control and the widespread application prospect.
