The combination of Microelectromechanical System (MEMS) and modern fuse technology bring on a revolution in fuse technology. MEMS technology plays high emphases on the technology of precision mechanical manufacture and the integration technology of multiple micro sensor, micro executer and signal process circuit. The MEMS products which make full use of MEMS technology have advantages of small volume, cost lower and high reliability. Intelligent MEMS fuse systems are the combination of MEMS sensors and modern micro processors. Using intelligent MEMS fuse system to replace the normal mechanical fuse system not only makes the volume of fuse become very small but also makes the fuse system become much safety. The most important thing for intelligent fuse system is they can realize the precision control of blast point, which can greatly increase the execution of penetration pills.Digital signal processor is one key component of intelligent fuse system. Comparing with general programmable DSP, the processor designed with programmable ASIC design technology has the predominant compute speed advantage. It can not only realize complex fuse control algorithms but also can full satisfy with the real-time demand at the same time. It is also very easy to convert the programmable processor to ASIC, thus makes the intelligent fuse system on single chip become true and will greatly lower the price.In this article, the control algorithms of intelligent fuse and the design method of real-time signal process system were introduced firstly. Then a scheme of intelligent fuse system consisting of a MEMS array accelerometer and a field program gate array (FPGA) of Altera's EP2C35 was introduced. The simulation results and the hardware design of the system are also provided.The main work of this paper is as follows:(1) Introduced a scheme of intelligent MEMS fuse system based on fuse control algorithm and fuse design technology. The fuse system mainly consits of a MEMS array accelerometer, signal modulates circuit, data acquisition circuit, and a digital signal processor based on FPGA chip. (2) The theory of piezoresistive accelerometer was analyzed and the transfer function deduction process of the piezoresistive accelerometer was also presented in this paper. Through studying the technology of the weakness signal detection, the design method of MEMS array accelerometer signal detection and conditioning circuit was given. The reason, which influences the detection precision, was pointed out and the corresponding resolve method was proposed. The scheme of the accelerometer data acquisition and signal compensation circuit was also introduced.(3) The distributed design technology that was one of the most important design technologies in programmable logic design, and the digital filter design technology were studied. A 64 order FIR filter, based on the distributed design technology was introduced. This distributed digital filter makes the high precision measurement of high-g acceleration become true.(4) Based on the real-time signal process theory, programmable ASIC design technology and modular design method, the most important components of the intelligent MEMS fuse digital signal processor were mainly researched and the realization on EP2C35 was discussed. The corresponding hardware design and primary testing result were also presented.
