Abstract/Summary:
Urban road traffic intelligence control technology is one of the research focuses in both present control field and traffic engineering field. For traffic control has relatively obvious characters of nonlinearity and uncertainty, it is difficult to conduct traffic by traditional theories and methods. Fuzzy control is a modeless intelligence control method. It meets the real-time traffic control requirement by combining human thinking and experiences. It is a prosperous urban traffic control method.In this paper, standard single intersection is set as the study object of control system. The intelligence control method combining timing control and fuzzy control is put forward. Fuzzy control and timing control is used to control the intersection under non-rush and rush condition respectively. Fuzzy arithmetic is constructed by study and design of the responding control rule base and reasoning unit. The simulation of fuzzy control is accomplished by the use of SIMULINK and fuzzy logic tool boxes of MATALB software, Fuzzy control algorithm program is completed under VB condition. This combination of timing control and fuzzy control makes full use of the advantage of timing control while avoiding the unsatisfying effect of fuzzy control during rush hour.In the latter part of this paper, OMRON Company's PLC is made the main traffic control subject of single intersection. Up-computer supervision software is developed by adoption of Microsoft company's visible programming tool Visual Basic 6.0. The traffic control of single intersection is realized by Microsoft company's MSCOMM through sending control system's information to PLC. Thus the paper's design idea is realized and the design of a whole intelligence traffic control system based on single intersection is completed.
