Rain proof performance test is an important content of integrated carriage performance test, at present, both home and abroad are using the way of rain test. Rain test is a kind of artificial environment test method, which simulates equipments that are under the condition of encountering natural rainfall or water-dripping environmental factors'impact. However, man-made rain test takes a longer time, larger consumption and the results are vulnerable to man-made factors, so the test can not meet the needs of modern carriage test combination property, which constraints modern carriage'test standard and test system's complete and effective implementation. Therefore, it is necessary to work over new test method of carriage water-tightness and sealing performance, whose purpose aimes at new vehicles, simplify experimental steps, economize test time and improve test accuracy.Sealing performance test widely used now are radiographic inspection, automatic optical inspection, ultrasonic test and infrared detection, etc. Of which, ultrasonic test takes a relatively significant position.To test carriage'rain proof performance by ultrasonic, namely to place ultrasonic generator inside the bus. If the bus'leak tightness is not good enough, the ultrasonic receiver placing exterior the bus will detect ultrasonic signal that is converts by A/D to Single Chip Microcomputer (SCM). SCM will process the signal by relative computing, and then send it via serial interface to supervisory computer'carriage rain proof performance test system. The system is developed from Visual Basic, mainly composed of six modules: bus information, system management, display data, rain proof performance test, user management and system help. Among them, the modules test standard of rain proof performance is based on the data's equivalent comparison of ultrasonic test and man-made rain test. Research shows that using ultrasonic test to detect carriage'rain proof performance is able to achieve automatization of testing process, which will exert the maximum detection capability so as to make the accuracy of test data depends entirely on the accuracy of test equipment, while man-made factors to the impact of test results will be reduced to a minimum that will help improving economic benefits.
