The technology of geomembrane and polystyrene board are becoming the most commonly material in the filed of seepage and insulation control in our country.At the same time, many technical problems need solving urgently.At present,there has some research about friction characteristics of geomebrane with soil at home and abroad,but there has some problem what accurately determine friction angle and cohesive. Especially,the research results of polystyrene board with soil and geomembranes of friction characteristics are few. Up to now, there has no concrete test methods in the geotechnical synthetic materials test procedure.By using what kind of instruments test friction characteristics also not mentioned. All about afect the popularization and application of geomembranes and polystyrene board.Combining theory with experiment together,the engineering example that geomembrane and polystyrene board are used to act as seepage and insulation material are enumerated in the paper.1.Type TZY-1 Comprehensive Geotechnical Synthetic Materials Determinator and Non-gramular Mixtures Friction Angle Determinator which is designed by oneself are used to test the friction characteristics of geomembranes and supporting layer material and polystyrene board and supporting layer material or insulation material.Through analyzing and comparing the test,the frictional characteristics regulation of them are acquired.The study will offer the reference basis for the design of slope stability.2.Combining with engineering examples that geomembrane and polystyrene board are used to act as seepage and insulation material and using test results that are established in the paper to analysis slope stability.3.Summarizing textual work in brief and putting an outlook on the research of the composite polystyrene board and geomembranes.
