The application of various new technologies and theories promotes the rapid development of instruments and meters'technology, but, one important branch of its, science and education instruments develop relatively slowly due to many restrictions, lots of equipments are still in the low-skilled level and failed to keep up with the rhythm of time. Because of the actual condition of science and education instruments, this dissertation provides a high performance-price ratio design of the beltwork test-bed based on ARM7 microprocessor. This plan has many functions, such as motor timing, data acquisition and analysis, LCD-display, and communicating with computers over serial ports or Ethernet.Based on the detailed analysis of similar products and embedded systems, this dissertation provides a new scheme of developing a modern mechanism experimental instrument, by using ARM-serial chip to replace the 51-serial chip and the LCD-display method to LED-display method. This promotes the performance-price-ratio of product greatly, and contributes to products'development of same kind with a certain extent guiding significance.Based on the functional requirements of the test-bed, this dissertation gives a general plan for the experimental instrument design, and then a detailed description for its software and hardware systems is followed. In the hardware system design, by using LPC2210 chip which is one of ARM7 systems of NXP corporation, this dissertation finished the hardware circuits design on base of its'characteristics. In the design of software system, this dissertation gives the driver and application programs in different modules by using the powerful function of uClinux operating system; In the programme of graphical user interface, introduced how to use MiniGUI and achieved display using MiniGUI.After the final experiment, the design of the test-bed can meet all the functional requirements of the beltwork experiment.
