Brownfield mostly refers to the old industrial land in the city centre, but because of the actual or potential pollution problems, the development process has become very complicated. So such urban sites are often in idle or inefficient use state.At present, China is facing a new-type industrialization and rapid urbanization. In the process of the rapid expansion of cities, re-development of the urban land can alleviate the continuous growth of cities and prevent the unlimited spread of cities. With the development of the cities, the number of the Brownfield increase continuously, especially in the old industrial land .So this type of land use become one of the preferred targets of re-development of the old industrial city.Even though the Brownfield development of the old industrial cities faces tough task, an opportunity has to be taken to the urban renewal. On the one hand, the development of the Brownfield promote the replacement of the industrial land and accelerate the upgrading of the urban industries. The other hand, which guide the sustainable development of urban land use and to improve the urban landscape. When the western developed countries go from industrialization to post-industrialization, the traditional industries declined generally. To promote urban renaissance, large number of theoretical researches and development practices have carried out for Brownfield. Although China's national conditions and urban development stages have greater differences from foreign countries, but their related research results and practical experiences can also help us to guide the work of Brownfield development, and to promote effective development process.At present, there are many success researches about the cases of the old industrial land upgrading, but there are very little systematic research for the Brownfield development as a special object. In this paper, by the analyses of the concept of the foreign Brownfield, definite the characteristics and the concept of the Brownfield in the old industrial cities in the first. And then, receive the successful experience of abroad and the inadequacy of China, by the analysis of the course, mechanisms, policies, financial preparations, the development focus and the development of case, review relevant research background, and compared with the status quo of the Brownfield development in China. Focused on analysis of the number, distribution and the situation of the development in Wuhan City, to get the distribution and development potential, and to reveal the major contradictions and problems of the development.At last, raised the relevant planning research of the Brownfield development in Wuhan City, and to be demonstrated by the development program in the north district of Gui Hill in Wuhan City. |
