Linear-city occupies a certain number of cities in China,there were 35 nationwide, of which the medium linear 16 cities there.In China,the linear-city are mainly due to the impact of natural terrain conditions,such as in Northwest China Lanzhou,Baoji, Yan'an and other cities,mainly due to the relatively complex terrain conditions,the city was built-up area of the zonal distribution of land.Such spatial structure of the linear-city has its own unique advantages,the structure itself is very flexible,they can always maintain the structural integrity.Take linear formation to restrict the outside except accepting a landform,another important factor is traffic axis guidance,opening being in our country Sui dynasty with Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal,city quantity and scale have been along the line developing greatly,city structure has also been accepted by a great impact.For example, Yangzhou has been affected by water transport of grain to the capital.In the South, many by the impact of city water network along the surface zonal distribution were unilateral.Inland by the impact of external transport links,especially small and medium cities along the road on both sides of the city was the spatial pattern of ribbon.The main body of a book is to explore the relationship between urban transport and the resulting linear-city's urban traffic characteristics and to further explore the linear-city's traffic characteristics and traffic patterns.Finally it points out the medium linear-city's transport strategy.First of all,from the relationship between the urban form and urban transport,the article conludes urban transport's perspective of urban form impaction's factors and the impact of traffic in urban traffic summary form factors,and comes to the conclusion that the interaction between urban form and urban transport. Secondly,with the characteristics of linear-cities are analyzed,summed up with urban traffic characteristics:Trip characteristics of residents,road network characteristics and the characteristics of parking infrastructure.The traffic characteristics of residents and the vast majority of other forms of transport characteristics of the city are-not much difference.For the road network,because it is the formation of the skeleton,and its network characteristics have its particularity,that is,the form of trunk shows beaded.Again,the paper strips on the urban traffic network of medium linear-city.Because the medium linear-city with the same shape and size of cities have their uniqueness,The traffic characteristics are different with the different sizes of the same urban form,such as urban traffic,urban road network,road travel speed and the residents trip.Through horizontal and vertical contrast,come with medium linear-city' traffic pattern.Finally,from the traffic patterns of medium linear-city,the article analyzes the medium linear-city' transport strategy.Including structural optimization strategy of the city,bus priority strategies,chronic traffic planning strategy,urban road network planning strategy.
