Study On Environmental Evaluation Of Urban Spuare

In recent years, with economic growth, the process of urbanization in China has entered the accelerated phase. In the rapid development of city, construction and reconstitution of the urban square was developed quickly. However, the urban square as an emerging in modern landscape, there were relatively shallow theory and practical experience about it. At this moment, the environmental evaluation theory and practice played important roles in its accumulation of theory and practical experience for the urban square.In the first part, this paper discussed environmental evaluation of the urban square, including the context, summary of environmental evaluation analysis, purpose and meaning of the urban square, as well as the specific contents and research methods.Theoretical basis of the model of environmental evaluation and Post-occupancy Evaluation (POE) were summarized in the second part of this paper. And the urban square POE mode was extracted from some current urban square POE case. So we can make good use this mode to evaluate the square environment.On the theoretical basis for environmental evaluation and according to characteristics of environment and constituent elements of the urban square, the third part of this paper clearly stated several indirect and direct clues of environment of the urban square and the contents of object evaluated, thus completing the environmental evaluation model for urban square.To analysis the effectivity and practicability of the urban square POE mode and environmental evaluation model, the urban square POE mode was used in environmental evaluation model for the evaluation of urban squares in Harbin, such as the Architectural Art Square (named Sophy Square), Mother's Square and Vienna Square. Here, questionnaire designed according to the environmental evaluation model, and together with observation and interview and so on. On the base of the statistic and analysis of the data, the advantages and disadvantages of the square environment was evaluated and put forward recommendations for consummate and adjustment.
