As a form of advanced pavement structure, Asphalt Concrete Pavement has been widely used, with features like sufficient mechanical strength, a certain degree of flexibility and plastic deformation capacity, the relatively simple repair job, and renewable sources. In accordance with the existing road design specifications of our country, asphalt pavement structure with good design and construction quality, generally will never be damaged until a long-term use and meeting the design service life. However, this is not true. During the road construction process, there exist some uncertainties which have greater impacts on the performance of the pavement structure. Therefore, in the middle 1960s, the reliability theory was introduced into pavement design. After summarize the status quo of the reliability theory study of engineering structures at home and abroad, this thesis analyzes the impacts on the reliability degree of the pavement structure by different stochastic uncertainties of asphalt pavement.In this paper, ANSYS finite element analysis software is used as the main instrument, and Monte Carlo is used to analyze the sensitivity degree of impacts on the reliability degree by different uncertainties respectively. Then, HPDS2003 pavement design program is used to analyze engineering examples. Finally, the Matlab program in combination with genetic algorithm is used for analyzing the optimal design of asphalt pavement on the basis of reliability degree.By using finite element analysis, and being combined with practical engineering instance, this paper sums up the rule of how different uncertainties of the asphalt pavement influence the reliability degree, works out the sensitivity of the impacts on reliability degree by different uncertainties, and propose some suggestions to design and construction in the future.
