Give priority to the development of public transport is the solution to urban traffic imbalance between supply and demand; adjust the structure of the effective means to transport one. With the acceleration of urbanization process, the residents continue to extend the trip distance, travel demand increases, showing the diversity of characteristics. At present, more urban public transport network problem exists, should not efficient use of public transport resources to meet the travel needs of the diversity of residents, city development can not meet the needs of urban public transportation network optimization studies it is necessary.Based on the functions of different lines, this paper will be the public transport system is divided into three interrelated levels of planning, to explore the feasibility of a hierarchical planning and the planning process, established at various levels between the issues. On this basis, were studied at different levels to take public transport with the bound goals to optimize the conditions for the establishment of the optimal model, and described the layout of the circuit optimization. The final details of the production methods of selectable lines, in conjunction with the initial formation of an ideal public transportation network to adjust the existing public transportation network, the public transportation network arrive at the best practical method, and Nan'an District of Chongqing as an example of the public transportation network to optimize of applied research. This article will introduce the idea of the level of public transportation network optimization, on the city public transportation network optimization to a reasonable classification, the scientific allocation of limited resources, to provide travel for residents of different levels of service, the optimization theory to improve the public transport planning must have a guiding role .
