It is obviously that ship fire is one of the most difficult fires to putout.It occurs frequently and there might be huge disasters.Life safety,property protection,cargoes on the ship,and the ship safety itself are concerned.Loss of lives,damages to property and environmental pollution might result from the fires.Halon fire extinguishing agent,with its unique fire fighting effect,was widely used in fire fighting field.From its tremendous damage to the ozone layer was discovered till it's totally banned in the nineties,people had been dedicating in seeking new halon alternative technologies.And water mist fire extinguishing system,with its advantages of high efficiency,less water used and wide range application,has become one of the best substitutions of the "halon" system.Although the current water mist fire extinguishing technology has made significant progress,but the core system components-water mist spray nozzle-is still not ideal,becoming the developing bottlenecks of water mist fire-extinguishing system.This issue,the theoretical research on the mechanism of atomization nozzle,atomization characteristics and fire extinguishing performance,and comparison of the internal flow field and physical simulation the experiment of water mist fire extinguishing,it's significant for the development and application of water mist technology in China.After analyzing traditional problem like small spraying angle and bad spraying effect,A new centrifugal water mist nozzle was designed.It contains diffiuent plate, vortical plate and atomizing plate,the special design of the inner flow field was propitious to the flow and intense vortex.The traditional problem above can be solved. Unique outlet shape makes it easier for water spray atomized in the air,and SMD is greatly reduced,making it able to produce good effect of atomization in low-pressure condition.CFD simulating an experiment were done for the inner flow field and outer atomization characteristic of nozzle.The influence of inner flow and structure parameter of nozzle on nozzle atomization effect was studied and the parameters of nozzle were optimized.And efficient ability of firefighting can be made by this nozzle.
