With the development of computer science technology the virtual prototype technology had gotten rapid development.Mechanical engineers often use virtual prototype technology in the mechanical products design process,which much shortens the design period and reduces the making and debugging cost compared with the traditional method.So,Multi-body System Dynamics is an efficient approach in the research of vehicle,providing a new method for the research and development of vehicle products.Firstly,the growing history and future trend of the front wheel alignment parameters,the influence of the front wheel alignment parameters to handing stability were itemized.The growing history of handing stability research and the evaluation of handing stability were reviewed.Secondly,based on the theory of Multi-Body System Dynamics,multi-body system dynamics models of front and rear suspensions model were built in the Mechanical System Simulation software ADAMS,and dynamic simulation of front and rear suspensions system dynamics were performed and the modifying strategies were put forward;the full vehicle model including engine,steering system,front and rear tire etc based on the analysis of front and rear suspension.The results of simulation compared with road test indicated that the model had relative high accuracy.Then,the Driver Control Files for the simulation analyses of controllability and stability of full vehicle were defined based on "GB/T6323.1-94~GB/T6323.6-94 controllability and stability test procedure for automobiles".The simulation results were evaluated for the full vehicle model based on "QC/T 480-1999 Criterion thresholds and evaluation of controllability and stability for automobiles".Finally,based on the optimization theory,a reasonable optimization design of the vehicle was brought out.It is proved by test result that the returnability and the handiness of the vehicle with optimized alignment parameters are more perfect.In conclusion,the front alignment parameters have critical effect on the handing stability and driving safety of vehicles.At the same time,we can improve the driving performance by reasonably optimization design of the front alignment parameters.
