The Safety Assessment And Study For A Civil Airplane Flight Control

With the project of civil airplanes being established, it is in urgent need for our country to promote the level in civil airplane system safety design and assessment. The civil airplane made by our country won't find a good market in the world unless our country is competent in civil airplane system safety design and in airworthiness certification. The application study in system safety design and assessment, therefor, is an imperative job for us at present.The process and method in system safety design and assessment for civil airplanes are studied on the basis of advanced theories in this paper.First, the role in the System Safety Analyse played by three procedures is analyzed in this paper, which include functional hazard assessment(FHA), preliminary system safety assessment(PSSA) and system safety assessment(SSA). Besides, the application of a few method in FHA, PSSA and SSA is discussed, which include failure modes and effects analysis(FMEA), failure modes and effects summary(FMES), fault tree analysis(FTA) and common cause analysis(CCA).Second, the reason of determining the certification maintenance requirement(CMR) and the application of it are analyzed in this paper. Also, the method of developing candidate CMR in SSA is discussed. On the other hand, the formulas for calculating the average probability of double failure comprising hidden fault(s) are established in the light of characteristic of CMR, besides the means of determining the maintenance interval of CMR is developed on the basis of the formulas.Lastly, taking example for the filght control of a airplane, the safety of roll function of the flight control is assessed by the application of FHA, PSSA and SSA. The candidate CMR of the filght control and relevant maintenance interval is developed, too.
