Our country is a nation that has many mountains and earthquakes. With the rapid development of our economy, more and more expressway constructions appear in western. In order to meet the requirements of highway alignment or achieve the purpose of not disturbing, it is inevitable to build high fill embarkment. It is both economic and convenient to use soil and stone material to fill embarkment,so it becomes an inevitable trend to use soil and stone material to fill embarkment,and it has features of large number and wide area. If the fill embarkment is unstable, it will result in serious accidents and bring about huge economic losses and casualties. Under the seismic load, the embarkment will experience a very complex mechanical process, but in previous studies dynamic characteristic of embarkment seldom involves. So it has a very important theoretical and practical significance to research the dynamic response of fill embankment, especially high fill embankment the dynamic response.In this paper, the research situation and recent development of dynamic characteristic about fill embarkment are summed up systematically. The types and causes of damage on fill embarkment in the earthquake are also summarized. On this basis,this paper uses the Lagrangian element software to research the dynamic rensponse of the high fill embarkment under earthquake. By simulating the fill embarkment with different slope height and slope ratiothe, dynamic characteristics of fill embarkment are finded. This paper also researches the use of geogrid in the high fill embarkment, and verifies the seismic performance of geogrid. At last, some corresponding measures for the restoration and reconstruction against damage of fill embarkment are raised.The results of this paper will further enrich the existing results of the dynamic analysis theory of slope stability, and also provide some references for the seismic research and damage treatment of fill embarkment, especially high fill embankment.
