Strategic Thinking In Urban Design

Construction in globalization and the rapid urbanization of the city has brought new test to the urban design,the traditional urban design based on the status of construction can not meet the needs of city development,one of the most important problem is the lack of strategic thinking.The full text of the techniques are found to route questions,analyze problems,and then try to solve the problem,methods to solve the example.Designed from the article urban design starting with the basic knowledge of the system on the Chinese theory of urban design in the development of urban design has been of concern to consider the scope should not be limited to space,but extended to economic,social,ecological and other,more macro,that is,from strategic thinking reflects the importance of urban design.Lack of strategy to consider is the current practice of urban design major defects.On this basis,the phased improvement the problems of the urban design because of the lack of strategic thinking.Further elaborated on the strategic thinking of strengthening the role of urban design.The core of this paper is to examine how to implementing the strategic thinking at various stages of urban design.Divided into three phases:Phase of the project and commissioned,preparation stage,implementation phase.In the Phase of the project and commissioned,a feasibility study to strengthen.In the preparation stage,respectively, from the regional urban design,the overall urban design,urban design detail on the three levels of strategic thinking and strategic elements.During the implementation phase,to improve implementation based on the strategic thinking in feedback mechanism.Finally,in order to further verify the evidence of strategic thinking in urban design at the application,two examples cited in this article:the overall urban design competition of the Pingxiang City,detailed urban design of the Cui Jia large beach in Lanzhou.
