Our country is one of the countries that severely suffering from earthquake disasters,and now an active earthquake period is coming.In recent years,several large and small earthquakes stroke our country and caused severe damages of many primary and middle school buildings,especially the masonry structure buildings which are relatively poor in seismic capacity,and the serious damage of school buildings in"Wenchuan Earthquake"even arouse great attention to scholars both at home and abroad.For the seismic assessment of masonry structure school buildings of our country, the paper involves the following work:First,this paper introduces several popular structures used in primary and middle school buildings,investigates and analyses the damage of the school buildings in"Wenchuan Earthquake",summarizes the form of the destruction and the main reason for the destruction.Secondly,the paper sums up the calculation model proposed by scholars at home and abroad,discusses the characteristics the scope of application of each model,thinks that the equivalent framework model can compare with the static non-linear analysis of masonry structure.Taking into account the different characteristics of horizontal and vertical walls,different models were used to simulate the two kinds of walls.Based on the research data of seismic behavior at home and abroad,the method of the division for seismic performance level is proposed.It's established that to use inter-story drift ratio limits as an evaluation of seismic performance of masonry structure according to the statistics of masonry walls experimental data and the deformation characteristics of walls at different stages. Finally,with the aid of finite element analytical software SAP2000,according to the model of this paper,the static-nonlinear(push-over)analysis method is used to evaluate the seismic capacity of masonry structure primary and middle school buildings.
