Research On Determining Sweep Widths For Sea Searches

Since Navigation there are so many shipwrecks that make people pay more attention to the safety of transport and life on the sea. As the last defense line of protecting lives and property, Maritime Search has been more concerned by people. Researchers have been improving the technical means of maritime search and design rescue equipments for the life-saving.Our government attaches great importance to Maritime Search and Rescue. After years of construction and investment, a complete set of search and rescue system has initially been formed in china. However, the Search and Rescue is a difficult task. After the accident, it is difficult to find the exact location of the drift. on China's current situation, in terms of the search and rescue operation, the search region and the choice of search method is also too much reliance on the experience of guidance that in the process of searching it is lack of systemic. There are two ways to improve the success rate of search and rescue: One is increasing number of search and rescue forces, and the second is to improve the accuracy of search and rescue operations, the study found that to improve the accuracy of search and rescue operations forces is more conducive to improve the success rate than the increase in search and rescue. Therefore, how to determine the location of the search, how to assess the search and rescue ability of search and rescue team and how to distribute a variety of search teams has become the issues of concern to researchers.Sweep width is the measure of capability that the search facilities found maritime targets. in the searching, the searcher only in the understanding of the unity capacity of discovery , can make accurate searching plans in terms of limited units, and thus make full use of the search unit, in the limited time to save more people.The main purpose of this paper is to explain the meaning of the sweep width, explain its importance in making a searching plan; find the main impact factor of sweep width, design and form a standard model that is through a simple, practical, inexpensive discovery experiments and collect data from the experiments, ultimately determine the effective sweep width of the SAR.The results of this article could provide a reference to improve the Maritime Search and Rescue and it will play a promoting role in improving our country's search and rescue abilities.
