The technological prowess of the twentieth and current centuries has had a major impact on maritime transport, stimulating the development of the cornerstone of World Trade;<<maritime trade>>.Whether in the Pacific,The Atlantic or other oceans and seas, seaports and maritime transport flows play a very important role in the global economy. These flows are generated by merchant ships, tankers and LNG carriers that travel the world’s oceans and seas.By navigating the outer waters of the Blue Planet, these ships are exposed to risks of technical, human errors and environmental origin, these risks can become incidents if the vessels do not adapt.Depending on the nature of the product being transported, these incidents can result in heavy financial losses for consumer goods or merchandise, tragedy if the vessel is carrying people,or an environmental disaster if the contents of the vessel are oil, liquefied natural gas or chemicals. To minimize these types of tragedies, international and national organizations have developed safe systems to rescue ships in distress whenever possible. In the arcane of these systems, there is an organization entirely dedicated to marine search and rescue;it is the search and rescue mission,it is the organization best placed to accomplish this task. But before SAR operations at sea, these missions are based on the SAR plan developed by the SAR planning section. The plan developed by this section is essentially to identify three types of probabilities:the POC,the POD and the POS,which are also the elements to be modified if their formulas need to be modified to improve them.Today, many methods are used to determine these different probabilities.Nevertheless, this does not prevent us from providing constructive ideas to help improve the results of existing methods. To this end,the investigation of an incident in BOHAI Bay introduced new methods such as the "density ratio"and the "exclusion of the research area from the containment area" into the POC and POD calculations respectively in order to make the results of these two different probabilities and the probability of success more relevant.
