As a result of the increasing of the demand for oil all the way in the world scale, exploitation in land and shallow sea oil field can't satisfy our requirements.However, there is abundant oil resource in deep sea.To develop the ability of exploitation of the oil resource in the sea,the application of FSO(Floating Storage and Offloading) is getting more and more attention.FSO is a multifunction vessel designed for storage and offloading of oil.It is one of most important equipments in the offshore oil and has good future.Because FSO is always tying up in the sea,it should have the ability to withstand the water load and variational load brought by typhoon.So,there is high requirement for strength and fatigue.In this paper,we describe the basic characteristic,designed characteristic,market demand and its development,the dfifference between FSO and FPSO,we also anlysis the structure strength of the FSO.In this paper,the finite element model of FPSO is established using the FEMAP,the shape of which is complex but also can be tackled,how to make the procedures of modeling more simple and convenient is also discussed.Base on model,we make direct strength calculation according to DNV rule,to make sure the strength is satisfied the rule requirement.After investigating the FSO in different deadweight and service in different sea,we change the structure shape of instance FSO,from double bottom to single bottom.We establish the model and calculate the strength again.By comparing,we found the weight reduced after changing structure shape,it make this FSO more economy. |
