The elaboration and analysis in this article is on the basic of the design andconstruction of a residential building under construction. This building uses thebase isolation technology. Located at the bottom of the building added a layer ofthe isolation layer. This paper mainly researches the base isolation system,contributing to find out the damping effect of the isolation technology. Combinedwith the project, this paper try to discuss issues related to the construction. Thisresearch belongs to the field of seismic isolation which concerns the seismic basicisolation system and its construction.This research is based on the finite element analysis theory. Using the finiteelement analysis software named ETABS, we establish the appropriate modelbased on actual engineering. Using dynamic analysis methods, we put three timecurves on the structure and then analysis the reaction of the structure under minorearthquake situation without the isolation method, then make a contrast with theresponse of the structures using additional rubber lead seismic method. Thedynamic characteristic of the two structures under comparison mainly includes theperiod, vibration mode characteristics, inter-laminar shear, overturning moment and earthquake-reduction coefficient.After comparing the results of the seismic response of traditional structuresand isolation structure, it can be drawn the result that the isolation-added structureperforms much better than the non-isolated structure under seismic force. Theisolated structure has obvious damping effect,and the inter-layer displacement,inter-laminar shear has a very large reduction. Its damping coefficient is0.39, sothe superstructure fortification could be appropriately reduced. By analyzingavailable, the isolation layer damping effect on the structure of the building trendsto gradual increase.from the bottom to the top。In rare earthquake, the isolationlayer bears most of the drift, and its displacement is within the allowable range,With the isolation bearings, the upper structure could always keeps in elastic stateand gets quite mild damage even in rare earthquake, and the structure could keepsintact. The fortification level of isolated structure is higher than traditional seismicfortification requirements. This paper shows that the damping effect of the buildingstructure isolation technology is significantly.Our technology and theory of isolation are now very mature, but the lack ofexperience in construction hindered the promotion of isolation technology to alarge extent. In this paper, we described the construction process of isolation layer,the details of precautions and maintenance based the construction of this project,and then raised practical problems encountered in the construction site.This paper discussed the various advantages and difficulties of isolationtechnology, aiming to further introduce the isolation technology. The promotion of isolation technology could make immeasurable contribution to disaster reductionand economic development.
