As a science closely related to product manufacturers and users, Industrial Design has become a major factor for a product to outvie the others while technology and the market keep their unceasing development. Being the primary resource of innovation for design, user research helps direct and inspire the designer by introducing germane research subjects and methods into the design process which guarantee better achievement and efficiency.Utilizing cognitive psychology and the specific characteristics of UMPC Project, this essay tries to bring forward a user research paradigm based on User Attitude. By introducing User Attitude Formation theory and ACT Cognition Architecture, on the basis of study of Learning Transfer Theory, the author propounds a framework for Cognition Architecture of Attitude and achieves primary design verification through UMPC Project. The author analyzes the factors that could exert influence upon the formation of user attitude; whereafter discusses the major constitutional factors and the theory framework. Taking UMPC Project as a sample, the author applies the Cognition Architecture of Attitude to practice of user research, and investigates how and to what extent user research based on Cognition Architecture of Attitude could direct and influence the design activity. Proposing a Cognition Architecture of Attitude, the author hopes that in the primary stage of developing a Concept Product, a more efficient prediction of user's attitude could be achieved to provide more valuable direction and inspiration for the designers, and then the design could be more specific, efficient and user centered. And this research constructs a framework of Cognition Architecture of Attitude, constitutes the set of information components for products, users and rules, and explores a possible way of user research based on Cognition Architecture of Attitude.
