Study Of Space Transformable Dwelling Design

Only"living in peace"can lead to"life with contentment". As a social phenomenon and substantial phenomenon, dwelling is a big and everyone-related-and-caring topic. It is tightly related with climatic, geographic and human conditions with the development of society, economy and technology. Thus, dwelling needs to have corresponding"life force"to satisfy the fast growing requirement from society and residents, and improve its social service function.With the development of the marketing economy and reform of dwelling commercialization, the welfare housing has gradually become commercial housing from the market. Only if the dwelling design satisfy the residents'requirement and reflect people's consumption needs, the dwelling house can be competitive in the market. Economy development, changing of the living mode and family composition make the dwelling mode more complicated and versatile. Most current dwellings can not satisfy miscellaneous needs of residents, so many people remodel their houses or apartments by themselves, which leads to damage of the building structure and waste of social wealth. How to solve this controversy has become a difficult problem which the developers and designers have to face, however, transformable space design will be an effective approach to this problem.Aiming the problems in the current commercial dwelling market, and based on the research on the true residence state of different cities in Shandong province, this thesis summarizes the development history, technologies and methodologies, and previous research results of transformable space dwellings in foreign countries. It also constructs the theory basis for this topic referring to advanced foreign experience of dwelling system and design.This thesis processes a deep analysis on theories of dwelling space composition, space distribution and requirement to transformability of different spaces. This work proposes a set of new methodologies of transformable space dwelling design for board dwellings of general double divided room and triple divided room on market. Based on these methods, the dwelling space transformability is realized, and a series of multilevel methods of space arrangement is formed, giving residents multi-choices before moving in and making the dwellings space easily transformed during residency. By combining economy development levels and technology conditions of different areas, this method realizes dwelling space transformability to satisfy people's different needs in an economic way.This thesis summarizes current problems of space transformable dwellings, predicts the future design of the space transformable dwellings and discusses some engineering applications.
