Vehicle, which act as one of the most important role in modern society, bring us not only great facilitations in daily life, but also serious threats especially bus accidents causes. Nowadays, most of the automobile enterprises in the world have devoted into the research of the vehicle-collision safety and the strength analysis of the vehicle-structure. Meanwhile, obliged regulations of bus-crash safety, such as ECE R66 edited by U.N.ECE, have been constituted in international field orderly. How to improve the safety of bus-collision and reduce the casualty has become the urgent task of automobile manufactures.This paper briefly summarized the importance of research on bus-crash safety and the technical methods on it; basically analyzed the research situation about bus-crash simulation on PC in home and abroad, then, mainly discussed disadvantages of the research in domestic bus-industry; Finally, according to ECE R66 edited by U.N.ECE, the idea of using Finite Element Method (FEM) to accomplish bus-body frame crash simulation is presented.The paper mainly discussed as below:⑴FEA model :After taking the reasonable types of elements and distributions of grid, the Bus-body structure is simplified and FEA model of bus-body frame for roll-over crash simulation is established.⑵Typical working conditions analysis: In the bases of FEA model, this paper analyzed bus-body structure under three typical working conditions, and checked its strength and rigidness of top-body frame.⑶Mode analysis: Through analysis of natural frequency and vibration mode of bus-body structure, we got the characteristic of bus-body structure vibration, and provided the criterion for later design.⑷Roll-over collision: According to ECE R66 edited by U.N.ECE, this paper discussed the Roll-over collision on PC'simulation, then analyzed the strength of bus-body structure especially the top part of bus-frame.⑸contrast designs: On the basis of early simulation's methods, this paper simulated another bus of the similar structure, which involved in a real traffic accident, so we obtained rules of bus roll-over collision after contrasting.
