With the development of the ocean resources and the improvement of technology, the research on the submarine is of great practical significance. This paper studies the control of submarine propulsion systems.In this paper , the impact of the submarine—engine—propeller is analyzed first, then according to the design theory of the propeller and the given data parameters of the submarine, the best propeller parameters can be design out, at the same time, we can analyze its load characteristics. Then according to the characteristics of the load propeller and the basic design principles of the hydraulic servo system, we can establish the model of electro-hydraulic servo system of the submarine propulsion. In this paper, the electro-hydraulic servo system is valve-controlled motor, mainly include electro-hydraulic servo valves, amplifier, hydraulic motors, and other feedback components. Though choosing the appropriate hydraulic components, finally the mathematical model of the electro-hydraulic servo system will be established.For the establishment of the submarine propulsion electro-hydraulic servo system model, the paper uses two modern control methods to achieve their control. First is Model Reference Fuzzy Adaptive PID control (MRFA PID ). It include fuzzy control, adaptive control and integration of traditional PID control, so the complex adaptive law derivation is replaced by the fuzzy logic, and we can tune the controller parameters online. Then the controller design will become easy and has a better adaptive capacity. The other method is single neuron adaptive PID control, it uses the self-learning capability of the single neuron control ,on-line tuning the parameters of the controller, so the system is self-tuning and self-adaptive, that is a good robust and real-time control system.Also this paper make much simulation to the two control methods using of the Matlab, and compare to the conventional PID controller. By analyzing the simulation results of the simulation, we can found this two method all achieved the expected effect.
