In ship's performances, main engine shaft power is very import. It is a main way of calculating ship efficiency. We can find out how to match between ship hull, main engine and propeller by the way of measuring shaft power.The paper analyzed and researched into ship shaft power measure's essence principle-vibrating wire principle and how to use in the ship engineering field. The work principle and character of vibrating-wire principle are elaborated in this paper. We researched by structuring a system consist of ship shaft power measure and integration performances and applying during the sea trial of an oil tank. We can find out how to use by an actual experimentation. At the same time, we discussed the accuracy and reliability of the system.We summarized the problems we found during we install, commissioning and actual experiment. An actual data is given to prove the accuracy and reliability of the system.We designed a system that measuring the main engine power and ship performances according to the vibrating-wire principle. This system has been installed, commissioning and tested during the sea trial of PC 1100 series ships. Actual result is given to prove that we can use this system in the ship engineering field. At the same time, we got many ship performances include main engine gas temperature and fuel oil consume. The simulation results demonstrate that We can find out how to match between ship hull, main engine and propeller by the way of measuring shaft power.
