Packaging machine is one of the essential equipment in packaging industry. For the characteristics of coils or steel coils packaging, and solving the problems ,such as packing speed and the lifetime of the key component existed in the wrap packaging machine, some research on the deep cylinder wrap packaging machine is done in this paper, which has great significance in engineering application field.Firstly, the basic working principle of the deep cylinder wrap packaging machine is found out, and the important technical parameters are fixed on primary based on experience. And then, determine the servo motor, reducer and other purchased part by comparing analysis. Determine the extensional organization program, accomplished the structure design working of portal-type frame, U-shaped gate, U-shaped track, skatemobile and other parts of the deep cylinder wrap packaging machine.Secondly, after confirming the scheme, this paper establishes the three-dimensional entity's model with Pro/E software according to the analysis of parameter and pattern, and assembles parts to integer according to overall arrangement and scheme, structures the parametric feature entity model of the testing device.Thirdly, to minimize the mass of the skatemobiles, so to minimize the dynamic load is generated in the motor process, analyze the forces and optimal design link plate. Establishing optimized link plate models and the volume of the link plate as objective junction, based on design requirements and the fundamental principle of optimal design and the software of ANSYS. The optimal solution of the link plate is carried out in first-oder which in the software of ANSYS, and then analyze the optimal result. Results indicate that the optimal design can attain the goal of minimizing the mass of the whole skatemobile under the requirement of the stiffness and intensity.Finally, the stress and displacement of the important parts of the deep cylinder wrap packaging machine are analysised using finite element analysis (FEA) in this paper. The finite element analysis of portal-type frame and U-shaped gate is accomplished in the software of Pro/Mechanica, determine structurally location and position of the unreasonable stress distribution, and to amend the structure based on the finite element analysis, so to make the design effort of the deep cylinder wrap packaging machine perfect.
