A highly run-time efficient reconfigurable application development platform which supports smart sensors and analog sensors is developed on the basis of deep analysis of application layer protocol and information models of smart sensor. The thesis comprises four parts:(1) AgileSN which is a lightweight application layer protocol for the smart sensor is researched based on IEEE 1451 Smart Sensor Interface Standard. An In-suit Virtual Instrument Platform called IsVIP which supports AgileSN protocol and NI-DAQmx driver is developed.(2) Node model and working process of AgileSN protocol are discussed, differences between AgileSN protocol and the IEEE 1451 standard are analyzed, and the protocol is implemented in Java technology. Some typical PC status information is wraped into AgileSN autonomous smart sensor with AgileSN protocol. IsVIP can discover the smart sensor automatically through AgileSN console.(3) A traditional data acquisition system is constructed using the data acquisition card USB6009 which can support NI-DAQmx driver. In order to make the sensor has the capabilities of self-identification and self-description, virtual Transducer Electronic Data Sheet is configured on PC on the basis of IEEE1451.4 standard. IsVIP accesses the analog sensor signal through DAQmx console developed by ourselves.(4) Using mixed-language programming method of C, Matlab and Java, signal processing modules of the virtual instrument platform are implemented. A signal processing example is described finally.
