The Research On The Design For The Small & Medium Sized Unit Type Apartment

The Ministry of Construction issued a policy about controlling residence structured supplying in 2006, called the "7090"policy for short. In this paper, the author researches on the development of public residence in developed countries and regions (Mainly in Japan and Hong Kong) and the constructing experience of ordinary residence in China, which inspires us that the "7090"policy meets the actual needs in our country, and will influence the development trend of apartment design.Aiming at the "7090" residences' characteristics, this paper analyses the reasonable limit scale of apartment's functional spaces, emphasizes on the compact design, and makes it economical and reasonable to achieve small-family's high comfort demand. This paper also makes elementary researches on the human-oriented design of "7090" residence, the trend of high-utilization space design and the adaptability design of small-family.Finally, this paper analyses the results of "7090" residence design competition and gives a brief introduction to some design work of author in the "7090" residence design practice.
