Study On Requirement Of Medium And Small-sized Dwelling Unit Type For Urban Residence In Xi'an

As urbanize process quickens and policy of housing is becoming perfect more and more .New changes on requirements appear in urban housing design.The problem of urban inhabitation in Xi'An has its distinctive feature. Close attention to people's actual requirements is lacking. Dwelling sizes are getting larger and larger, greatly exceeding basic requirements of average households and beyond their economic base, while, provision of qualified medium and small-sized dwelling unit type are neglected.Based on the requirement of urban resident in Xi'An,a thorough investigation and analysis through their structure , income , urban density and realty market ,This emphasizes that more attention should be paid to the exploitation and design of urban medium and small-sized dwelling unit types . Based on the principle of "Gradient consume " and " Moderate consume " .This paper further considering former design experience in connection with an investigation on current dwelling of Xi'An, to discuss the method of urban medium and small-sized dwelling unit type in Xi'An from four aspects: rational behavioral designing, improving of kitchen and toilet functioning and improving of its adaptability and flexibility.
