At present, in the situation that the increasing scarcity of land resources forms the rigid restraint to the development of transport infrastructure construction, to access the construction of different transport lines to coordinated development, enhancing the using land efficiency of the whole transport corridor, promoting the sustainable development of region society, the economical, the environment, it is necessary to carry on the reasonable appraisal and the comparison of influence from different transport lines on the area development, which will improve the transport corridor's transportation structure, realize the coordinated sustained development of transportation industry and the land resource, has the vital practical significance.This paper uses a comparative analysis and a combination of qualitative and quantitative analysis, mainly studies against regional development impact of ordinary roads and highways, railways, carries on the analysis contrast of the evolution of urban space formation and social economy environmental effect from the different line separately, simultaneously make a illustration with road and the railroad in the Xi-Bao transport corridor, make the support function for the related research. The paper mainly draws the following conclusion:1. Because of difference of regional development scale, economic basis and position between road and railway line, its line occupying land has the different influence respectively. This article believed that influence's contrast research on road and the railroad occupying land should carry on the concrete channel (and refers to identical area), like this only then to commensurability.2. Because of differences in the form of lines, ordinary roads, expressways and railways along the corridor space on the urban development trends has different forms. Ordinary road's along the road on both sides to a band stretching posture. Along the railway corridor on the shape of small towns stretching band is not obvious, but the development basically from the side of the railway line, also has a beaded-style development patterns. Urban space formation along the highway spread with a looser and more open manner, forming as a horizontal, low-density metropolitan.3. The social economy environmental effect from road and railroad occupying land area has the positive and negative bilateral influence, that has positive influence on the optimization to improve local the transportation geographical superiority and the promotion peripheral locality economic development, and so on; simultaneously also has negative influence for use the land, the division original layout and the landscape, causes the ecological environment destruction, and so on. The above measurement contrast, main backing Xi-Bao transport corridor 's highway and the railroad, makes the real diagnosis, and draws the conclusion that although highway occupying land area are more than railroad, but the former must be much bigger than the latter to the national economy contribution's influence.
