Insomnia seriously endangers the human beings'daily life because of its very high outbreak rate, wide range cover, decreased body functions, et al. In recent years, therapies for nnsomnia have been improved greatly. Conventional treatment methods have some efficacy. Howere, the medication has side effects and drug resistance, psychotherapy has instable efficacy, chinese medicine treatment has been short of objective dialectical standards and evaluation system. Additionaly, related application reports of physical therapy have been seldom. Clinical therapeutic has mainly used the medication.As the increasingly maturity of electronic technology and its wide applications in biomedical engineering, medical instruments are developing towards minimization and portability. Combining current domestic and international research results of insomnia treatment,the project introduces a design of a portable Insomnia Therapeutic apparatus. This Insomnia Therapeutic apparatus uses the Fastigial Nucleus Stimulation as for the therapeutic,which can induce the conditioned central neurogenic neuroprotection and regulat sleep-wakeful rhythm.It can play a important practical significance in the insomnia treatment.This paper's main work is the study of a portable insomnia therapeutic apparatus base on cerebral fastigial nucleus electric stimulation. According to design principles of portable medical equipments, the emphases of this paper is designing the hardware circuit and developing the software,including circuit modules as man-machine interface, signal synthesis and output.To evaluate the therapeutic's efficacy, the clinical experiments on 20 non-organic insomnia patients were conducted using the cerebral fastigial nucleus electric stimulation. The results show that patients'main sleep parameters gets better significantly, sleep latency is shortened and sleep efficiency gets improvement. Furthermore, the rhythm of sleep-awakening is gradually normal. Therefore, the results reveal that the therapeutic is effective for non-organic insomnia.
