Among the new energies, the development and utilization of wind and solar energy are paid more attention by various countries. The wind and solar energy are the new energies which are the most developed, most widely used, and have the highest level of commercial usages. But both the traditional wind power generating system and solar power generating system have the shortcomings of energy instability. Therefore, wind/photovoltaic hybrid generating system was proposed in 1981. And the system is defined as supplementary in energy of wind and solar.First, this paper makes a research to the battery charger and the inverter of energy conversion system, which is in the foundation of the analysis to the operational mechanism of wind/photovoltaic hybrid generating system. Secondly, in order to make use of the wind energy and the solar energy in a more efficient way, the paper designs a battery charger with maximum power point tracking (MPPT) function, makes improvements to the original MPPT method and gives an improved maximum power point tracking method. Then, in order to increase the switching frequency of the power switching valve and reduce size and power loss of the overall system, this paper applies the soft switch technology to the battery charger and designs a kind of battery charger which is based on zero electric current pulse-duration modulation (ZCS-PWM) technology. In the charge control strategy, in order to give dual attention to maximum power point tracking, the paper uses a variable charge current technology to make the design more reasonable. In the inverter section, the sine wave pulse width modulation (SPWM) technology is used to design a digital inverter. The overall system uses TI Corporation's TMS320LF2407DSP as a master control chip. Its powerful real-time processing power and internal integration module make the function of the energy conversion system merger easy. Finally, this paper taking the 1KW energy conversion system as an example carries on the hardware circuit design of the battery charger and the inverter and gives the corresponding software design flow. The results of the simulation show that the design can meet the requirements of design proposal.
