The power system will be more and more complex as its rapid developing and extending. It will bring higher requirement of speed and precision about monitor devices that using in power system.The monitor device of power system is current a research heat in the world, because it gets the quick development and the engineers of department relevant power system pay attention to it increasingly. The development and application of remote monitor in power system have the important meaning to the safe running of the power system and have the obviously economic and social performance.The paper takes the presently monitor technique as foundation, put forward and research a kind of monitor device in power system which consists of high performance ARM embedded microprocessor and embedded operate system.According to analyzing the system advantage or disadvantage of every remote monitor system, the paper was detailed to introduced the principle of that system and composing and its advantage; emphasized to analyze the hardware design of the embedded system based on the company of ATMEL 32 bits embedded microprocessor AT91RM9200; make the detailed treatise to the porting of embedded operate system RTLinux which is one of the key techniques of that system,and give out a new concept about embedded system designing which named software and hardware co-design.The system is intended to use in the power system as a universal monitor device. So the designing of software and hardware are all modularizing to fulfill the requirement of flexibility of using and compatibility with other devices.
