With the constant development of automation, the skill of the manager is required more and more, in order to make the operation of the ship safety, International Maritime Organization prescribes that shipman must adopt the simulator to train and evaluate in the STCW convention. Therefore, developing the simulator training aids of maritime profession in practical teaching has been an important program between the variousmaritime engaged in education."Simulation of marine fuel oil auxiliary boiler system based on VB" is one of the sub-projects of the development of Modern Marine Engine Room Simulator, which is one of the "211 projects" of Dalian Maritime University. The marine fuel oil auxiliary boiler is mainly utilized to accomplish the process simulation of marine auxiliary boiler and equipments involved.The accurate models of boiler drum water system and steam pressure controlled system were established in accord with the principle of marine fuel oil auxiliary boiler. The response was compared with that obtained through simulation realized by the use of MATLAB and the actual process on different steam flow, feed water flow, fuel flow and control method. The result proved that simulation models are in accordance with the actual process."Simulation of marine fuel oil auxiliary boiler system based on VB" is based on VB development environment, taking the marine fuel oil auxiliary boiler as the object of study, the software integrates the knowledge of automatic instruments about the boiler and its process control. In use of the simulation system developing the virtual simulation environment, builds the support platform of strategic decision and realizes the education mode of human-computer interaction. It applies to the engineering teaching as a teaching tool, improving the teaching efficiency, reduced the cost of teaching equipment with changed greatly. It is obvious that it has economic benefits, social benefits and a wide application future prospect.
