With the well running national economy, the quantity of domestic infrastructure constructions also increases continually. With these advanced characteristics, such as the high tower, the long boom and the broad scope of workspace, Tower Crane is extremely widespread applied in the infrastructure construction. However, due to some inducements as well as its own defects and poor working environment, etc., the Tower Crane accidents happen frequently, a solution to the Tower Crane security problem is needed imminently.Through a combination of the sensor technology, the embedded processing technology, the GPRS wireless transmission technology, and the software security technology, this article proposes one kind of advanced design proposal of Tower Crane automatic safety monitoring and controlling system. In this article, Some key technologies originated from the advanced design proposal, such as the the embedded processor, the transmission based on GPRS wireless technology, and the authority discrimination and distinction which are functions of user authentication software, etc., have been studied.Based on the national safety regulation standards of Tower Crane, this article carries on a analysis about some key parameters first, which have a great impact on the operation of Tower Crane, such as the environment information, the Weight information, and the Tower Crane foundation information etc. . Also, this article gives the functions and the technical specifications which achieved by the Tower Crane automatic safety monitoring and controlling system. From a managerial viewpoint of safety monitoring and controlling, this article proposes a design concept that the functions of the Tower Crane safety monitoring and controlling system are implemented by carrying a real-time surveillance on the Tower Crane real-time Running status, recording and controlling these status information which also upload to the supervisory control center. In the design proposal, the ARM embedded microprocessor is used for realizing the console of Tower Crane side, which makes the controller achieving the miniaturization and intellectualized features; the GPRS wireless transmission technology based on public wireless network is used for data exchanging between the console of Tower Crane side and the console of control center side, and for the purpose of enhancing the reliability, security, and stability of data exchange process; Visual Studio 2005 development kits is used for developing the humanize man-machine interactive interface in the control center side. And from a special application viewpoint of the special system users, the article proposes a concept of "user interface and database jurisdiction encryption" in Tower Crane safety monitoring and controlling domain. It provides different UserKeys for different users whom possess different authorities, and the users can achieve different software functions with different permissions by using different UserKeys. This method gives a good protection for the core data of Tower Crane real-time running status, and provides the required evidences for Tower Crane safety supervisory department when it relates to judging the related responsibility of the Tower Crane accidents.Finally, some results of the system running experiments are given, which shows that the system design proposal is feasible and effective. The goal of this paper is to laying the foundation for designing the newer Tower Crane safety monitoring and controlling system, and improving its application pattern in the future.
