A Regional Exploration On The Architectural Creation Of Harbin Poly Culture And Arts Center

In the technology and information highly developed today, the globalization of economy and technology have led to the region ablation and cultural convergence,and also caused the regional culture of the Architecture to be submerged by the global culture,the national characteristic of the Architecture to be replaced by the international one.The domestic situation is also quite serious. Therefore,it is absolutely necessary to make a in-depth study of regional architecture for a China whose architecture market is becoming increasingly prosperous.Only by doing this can we have the opportunity to put the inherent spirit of geographical tradition into practice,thus exploring our own path.Set in a reserch background of design case in the The Harbin Poly Culture and Arts Center in which the author had participated, combining the domestic and foreign related theoretical and practical experience, the Papers theoretically elaborate the gradual design results of the project and make a rational analysis and summary of the problems considered during the design process. Combining practice and theory ,we will discuss the ideas and methods of the regional architecture creation.From the three aspects affecting the origin of regional architecture—environment,culture and techonology,the whole text extracts three basic concepts of regional architectural creation: overall environment concept, deep cultural concept and appropriate technology concept. The overall environment view advocates a comprehensive,whole consideration of various environmental constraints, seeking its potential opportunities, trying to achieve the organic integration of architecture and environment; deep cultural perspectives concern geographical and cultural characteristics and dig the geographical connotations which the architecture represents,giving the people a sense of cultural belonging and intense spirit of Place; appropriate technology concept focus on the organic integration of traditional and modern technology,seeking an appropriate, effective technology route according to the practical needs and actual conditions in the region.Based on this three ideas, from different angles,the article is organised in a progressie way,by using categorization, analysis, summarization, and interpretation,it brings about a clear description of the geographical features of the project, as well as the thinking process of creation.The author attempts to provide a bit of inspiration to the creation of regional architecture by the elabration in this article.
