| Abundant of lighting experiences in the traditional Chinese architecture have been accumulated during thousands of years'development, which formed the Chinese unique lighting atmosphere. Study on the features of the traditional lighting environment will help us better inherit the traditional culture. Similar issues have initiated abroad, but it is the domestic blank. This paper presented the developing history and characters of the Chinese ancient lighting environment, on the basis of which, Falun Palace in the Lama Temple was chosen as the study subject and the method of Simulation combined with the investigation on the spot were used , Quantitative analysis of the lighting atmosphere in the FaLun palace have been done in order to carry and develop the traditional architectural lighting environment of our own nation and to illumine the daylighting design nowadays. More detailed information about the thesis is as follows:1. Whether in sunny or cloudy conditions, the horizontal illuminance of the ground in the central area during one day has tended to stable, so the impact of the direct light is little; But there is an acute change at the north and south edges of the space in the afternoon because of the direct light which entered from the west side of the door; illuminance on the pray desktop were uniform and stable during the day, but the intensity is so low that artificial lighting is needed.2. In the sunny day, the average luminance beyond the visual field from the exterior to the interior is up to 30 times, the space below the eave plays as a transition between the large areas of luminance contrast and the uniformly peaceful light feelings. From the south to the west in clockwise orientation inside the palace, the space luminance changes shows a sense of rhythm. For the vertical direction, the average luminance of the ground is higher than the ceiling ,so the light flow in the space is mainly from the underside to the upside.3. There are many lighting entrances and spread in all directions, and the light inside the palace come from different directions; The rich color and unique architectural elements formed a large number of reflector, which make the space filled with a lot of diffuse light; unique materials was used in the Doors, windows and the skylights to reduce the directivity of the light, which create a uniform harmony light environment.4. When all the gates were opened, the main source of the interior daylighting is from the vacancy. The only role of the large skylight is to illuminate the Buddha head, and create a religious atmosphere; The small skylights is to balance the illuminance of the ceiling and other surfaces; The main role of the lattice windows on both sides of the space are to illuminate the wall murals.5. When all the gates were closed, the main source of the interior daylighting is from the lattice window in the gates, and then the lattice windows on both sides of the space. Compared to the situation that all gates were opened, the function of all other light entrances were strengthen, the large skylight is not only to illuminate the Buddha head; The effect of the small skylights to the illuminance and it's uniformity in the central area become apparent; The effect of the lattice windows on both sides spent for interior illuminance uniformity along the broad direction has improved. |
