In this dissertation, the spinning bell high-speed side painting machine is concerned, which serves as one of the key components in automatic electrostatic painting lines widely used in automobile industry. On the basis of analyzing the control system of the side painting machine, a flexible-profiling automatic spraying system is built up. The following creative work has been completed:On the basis of analyzing the process of electrostatic spraying and the configurations of side painting machines, the idea to build a 12-bell flexible-profiling automatic spraying system is proposed. This idea takes the full advantage of side painting machine in conjunction with the use of network and database technology at system management level.On the basis of a thorough investigation into the mechnical transmission system of the side painting machine, the relationship between the vertical motion velocity and the overlap of painting deposition model is proposed.Based upon the concept of distributed control system (DCS),the PLC control system using Profibus-DP is built up. The position servo control system is introduced and some parameters of the system are reasonably optimized.With the idea of modularization, the painting software system is carved into many modules and the framework of the painting software is developed.
