Research Of Metro Gauge Detection

Based on the analysis of practice and experience of metro gauge detection, this paper presents a metro gauge detecting system of using LMS. It is considered hardware & software design of the detection system, data transmission and result analysis in the paper. LMS and computer are the core of Metro gauge measurement system, the former performs data acquisition, the latter controls the whole detection system, processes scanning data and displays information, and serial communication is realized via RS-232C bus between the two devices. Software is established to compute and process the scanning data with the computer. The software has been developed with Borland C++ Builder. Study on combination of scanning-data and original data, real-time display measurement figure and original figure, meanwhile judge whether or not out of metro gauge. The result analysis of Metro gauge measurement includes comparing with the design requirements and plotting measurement curve. Based on analysis of measurement error, three methods of improving measurement precision are provided.The measurement fundamentals, the hardware, the inspection software , the plan for improving accuracy of Metro gauge measurement system is illustrated in detail in the thesis. After running on the site, the system is proved to be rational and feasible in practice.At the end of this paper, it points the system's disadvantages that can be improved and prospects the further research of the topic.
